'Church up their street' - Sat 25 - Sun 26 Jan
We began our 60th anniversary year with a special chance to think together about
what it takes to bridge the gap between our church and our neighbourhood.
what it takes to bridge the gap between our church and our neighbourhood.
What was it all about?
This was a great weekend we didn’t want anyone to miss!
As a church we have always wanted to be sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with people in our neighbourhood. Yet, although our church building is literally “up their street”, few see Jesus (or our church) as being “up their street” at all! We need to think about how we can bridge this gap, if we are going to see new people coming to faith and lives transformed. What will it take to make a greater impact in our neighbourhood? How do we need to change? What is God calling us to be and to do over the next few years? Helping to consider these questions was Ian Coffey. Through the weekend he brought us encouragements and challenges from the books of Philippians and Acts, drawing out a number of themes for us to chew over. |
